strategies to attract youth to science and engineering careers, and

- One of the main goals is for women
scientists and engineers, with a variety of personal and professional
experiences, to learn from each other.
- Form new views on and approaches to
research of gender problems in S&T.
- Improve the understanding of roles,
conditions and careers of women in science in European and other
countries.
- INWES (International Network of Women
Engineers and Scientists) will create the linkages for sustaining the
efforts on a long-term basis. The Board of Directors of INWES has
representatives from India, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Argentina, Japan,
Canada, USA, France, UK, Germany, Korea, and Poland.
- The women will gain skills to enable them
to be more confident and efficient at their work place which will result
in increased recognition by their respective employers and communities.
- Another outcome is an enhanced
participation of East European and Russian women in decision-making
processes and accession to important positions in entrepreneurship.
The proceedings of the
conference, presentations and reports will be edited for the printed
publication and burned to CD-ROM. A list of attendees and their e-mails
will be made and provided to each participant for future cooperative
efforts and networking.
