Dear Colleagues,


It is a great pleasure on behalf of the Organising Committee, the University of Wroclaw and International Network of Women Engineers and Scienists (INWES) to announce the "INWES Regional Symposium on Women Scientists and Engineers in New EU Countries and Eastern Europe". The Symposium will be organized by the University of Wroclaw in close collaboration with INWES and held in beautiful baroque building of the University of Wroclaw, Poland, from the 2nd to 4th July , 2007.


The Symposium, is organized for the first time in Eastern Europe and we hope that it will contribute for closer relations and networking between women scientists and engineers of all over the world. Participants are kindly asked to be prepared with examples (come with posters!!!) from their own country for the discussion period.


Outstanding invited speakers, representatives of such world known organizations like UNESCO, OECD, AAAS, National Science Foundation, European Commission, and INWES as well as rectors of Polish universities and expert sociologists ensure a high level program of the Symposium.


Travel Grants will be available for women from developing countries. In order to be awarded you must submit by e-mail an essay on "SITUATION OF WOMEN SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS IN MY COUNTRY; PROPOSALS HOW TO CHANGE IT" - to dr Anna Szemik-Hojniak till 15th May 2007.


"HALF DAY TOUR" to Baroque Monastery with picnic " en plain air" in the garden of an old castle will be organized for only 35 Euro/person.


WROCLAW is very European, cosmopolitan city that is full of Medieval, Baroque and Secession monuments. It is known from its hospitality and active cultural life. So, come to Wroclaw and join us!!! It will be an unforgettable event!!!.


Wroclaw is easily accessible by plane (we have International Airport) through Warsaw or Munich…Frankfurt…etc, by train and by car (near the A2-highway).
